The new Accessibility Standard for Customer Services comes into effect across Ontario on January 1, 2012. Any organization with employees is required to establish policies, practices and procedures on providing goods and services to people with disabilities.

Victoria Park Community Homes is committed to meeting and responding to the customer service needs of our tenants, applicants, visitors and members of the public including people with disabilities. We have developed policies and procedures and forms. These are now available for you to view and/or print via our website. RENOVATION OF PUBLIC WASHROOMS AT 155 QUEEN STREET NORTH, HAMILTON

The renovation of our public washrooms at our main office, 155 Queen Street North, Hamilton has been completed.

They will re-open on TUESDAY, AUGUST 2ND, 2011.

The washrooms have been vastly improved and are fully accessible to the physically challenged. They are used by our tenants, our visitors, by the folks who attend Circle of Friends ESL classes and the parents and children who attend the various programs offered on site by Wesley Urban Ministries.

We thank everyone for their patience while the washrooms were closed for renovations.

VICTORIA PARK RESIDENTS CREATE BEAUTIFUL GARDENS

This summer has been dry and hot but this hasn't curtailed our residents from beautifying the gardens at their units. We are including here just a few examples from our townhome properties. The pride that our residents have in their homes is self evident and every year we look forward to their original creations. The time and effort is much appreciated by all of us here at Victoria Park and we extend our sincere appreciation to our residents who work hard every year to make their homes and gardens beautiful.

FIRST ANNUAL ART COMPETITION WINNERS

The winner of the First Annual Art Competition is Alley Potter, age 12, of Brantford. Her winning entry will adorn the cover of this year's Annual Report.

Second prize went to Labiba Ahmed, age 12, of Hamilton and Third prize went to Madison Steringa, age 11, also of Hamilton.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone who submitted artwork. All the submissions have been posted for viewing at our main office, 155 Queen Street North, Hamilton.

First Annual Children's Art Competition

Victoria Park is pleased to announce our

First Annual Children's Art Competition.

It is open only to the children of our residents (12 years old is the maximum.)Children are invited to design a cover for our Annual Report which is published once per year. The winning entry will win a $200 prize.

Full contest details are available at our office, 155 Queen Street North, Hamilton, M-F, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. You can also email Jennifer for details as well, jbooth@vpch.com. The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 1, 2011. This contest is not open to Victoria Park employees' children and/or the relatives of our employees.
